Creative problem-solving skills are crucial to effective LEADERSHIP

Creativity is defined as the generation of ideas, insights, or solutions that are both novel and useful in solving the problem at hand.

Creative problem solving is a specific process that has been developed and refined over many years that you and your team can learn in order to become much more effective in uncovering innovative solutions to the everyday challenges you face.

Did You Know That:

Groups who receive creativity training were signiﬁcantly more effective at idea generation than groups without training, and the solutions they generated are also more creative.
Leaders with advanced creativity training were perceived to be signiﬁcantly more effective leaders than those with no creativity training.
Team meetings that followed a simple process structure for creative problem solving out-performed groups (for both idea generation and creativeness of solutions) that did not follow a structured process.
Scott et al. (2004a), conducted a meta-analytic review of 70 creativity studies. Based on their ﬁndings, they offered the following unequivocal view of creativity training: “Taken as a whole, these observations lead to a relatively unambiguous conclusion. Creativity training works.”
